The Odyssee Group Hostels participate in the
Rallye Dresden Dakar Banjul with their own team!

This is not a rallye as you might know it - it is a charity race. Main goal is not beeing the winner but helping the people in Africa. All the Trucks are packed with goods that are needed in Gambia focussing on things like medical aids, but also teaching materials and hygienic goods. The funds are raised by DBO (Dresden Banjul Organisation), a Gambia registered NGO, mainly from private donations and from auctioning the participating trucks after the race.

The Race starts 06.November 2010 and it will take the 50 teams about 3 weeks to do the 8.000 km from Dresden to Banjul.

Sören & Chris will maintain a blog in order to let us take part in their Race so we'll be able to watch and see how they are taking the challenge, and you'll be able to see it right here on this page.
